Our Terms & Conditions  


1.    The Uxbridge Centre Reserves the right to refuse any application at any time.


2.    Payment of the booking fee, security/damage protection fee and return of completed application for hiremust be made within 7 days of reserving the date.  (Payment by BACS via 40-45-08 Account 72245914). IMPORTANT: Please state your name and date of booking within the reference

3.    The security/damage protection fee will not be returned immediately after the function. It will be returned by BACS within 30 days if no damage has occurred to the Centre’s premises and there has been no contravention of these terms and conditions.


 4.    Any change or cancellation, may be made up to two weeks before the hire date and submitted in writing (email is acceptable).  If the deposit has already been paid, it will be returned in full. If you cancel the booking more than two weeks before the event, 80% of the amount paid for the hire will be refunded. Cancellation within 2 weeks will result in deduction from fees at the following rates:

13 - 8 days notice = 25% of fees       

  7 - 1 days notice = 50% of fees


5.   The hirer shall, during the agreed period of hiring, be responsible for the premises/facilities they are using and all of its fabric and contents, ensuring that no damage or change to the premises/facilities occurs. Decorations may be installed but only by using white-tack on the walls.  All decorations must be safely removed at the end of the hire period. Damages occurred will be taken from the security/damage protection fee.  If damages exceed this amount you will be billed separately.


6.    Any electrical equipment brought into the Centre by the hirers or associates, should have proof of PAT testing within the last 2 years and it is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure such equipment conforms.


7.    The Centre is NOT licensed for the sale of alcohol.  Hirers must arrange their own ‘Temporary Event License’ with the Local Authority if alcohol is to be sold.


8.    The number of people attending functions must not under any circumstances exceed the licensed capacity stated for each hall:  150 in the large hall and 50 in the small hall.


9.    Hirers are restricted to the rooms that have been hired and paid for.


10.   Car Park: There are 9 parking spaces available plus 1 disabled parking space. Please park within the marked bays – excluding the space in front of the garage of the house number 32A.  VEHICLES MAY NOT ENTER OR PARK IN THE RESERVED SPACES OR DOUBLE PARK IN THE CAR PARK to ensure safe, clear Emergency Access.


11.   The hirer is responsible for the behaviour of all guests attending during the hire period, whatever their capacity, taking all reasonable precautions to prevent any injury loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your event. This includes parking, noise or other nuisance or inconvenience to other users of our premises, neighbours or the public);


12.  Children must be supervised at all times.


13.  The hirer shall be responsible for exercising the strict control of all noise levels, bands, discos etc and act upon any instructions given to them by the person acting on behalf of the Centre.


14.  Any disturbance or unacceptable behaviour that occurs during the hire period may mean you and those attending your event are required to leave the premises forthwith and cancel any further occasions booked by you (whether under the same or another booking) without making any refund of charges already paid


15.  The use of portable heating and cooking appliances or other flames or any combustible materials is strictly forbidden.


16.  Candles are not allowed for decoration purposes within the centre..


17.  The Uxbridge Centre is a strictly non-smoking premises. 

Smoking and vaping must be conducted outside and litter disposed of in the cigarette disposal bins provided 


18.  The kitchen is not licensed for preparation of food; only for re-heating purposes.


*19.   Hire times are to include setting up and clearing away. Clearing away should include sweeping of the hall floor, mopping up any spillages (with water only) and returning table and chairs to their original location20.   All waste should be put into black bags and placed in the green bin outside – only 5 bags of rubbish may be left in the green wheelie bin, please provide own bags.


21.   The Centre must be vacated by the end of the agreed hire period. Penalty charges will be incurred for over-run at a rate of £50.00 per hour or part of.


22.   Volunteers of the Uxbridge Centre will attend to open / close the facility and give up their time freely.  Your punctuality is appreciated. 


23.   The hire is responsible for ensuring that guests leave the Centre quietly as we are in a residential area.


24.   The Uxbridge Centre accepts no liability for loss or damage to the hirer’s equipment or personal effects.


25.   The Uxbridge Centre reserves the right to change the hire charges of its facilities at any time.


26.   Failure to observe one or more of the above terms and conditions will strictly result in the forfeiture of the hirers deposit in full.


27.   During your hire, you may contact one of the volunteers whose numbers are published on the noticeboard in the porch by the door to the large hall. These Terms & Conditions form part of the Hire Agreement and signing the booking form confirms acceptance of all conditions.


  • 1.    In addition to our rights under the other provisions of these conditions or to damages, you must indemnify us for and against all loss or damage arising from your event or from any breach of your obligations under these conditions, and all civil liability  (including all claims, proceedings, damages, costs and expenses in connection therewith) to any person for injury (including sickness and death), loss or damage so arising except insofar as such injury loss or damage is caused or contributed to by our neglect or default or that of our servants or agents.
  • 2.      We will not be liable to you for any curtailment of, disruption to or cancellation of any occasion booked by you or any insufficiency or unavailability of any facilities, amenities or services agreed to be provided by us in connection therewith where such curtailment, disruption, cancellation, insufficiency or unavailability arises from a cause not reasonably within our control.
  • 3.      Without prejudice to any other condition, we will be entitled to cancel any occasion booked by you if in our opinion it might be incompatible with or substantially disrupt or interfere with any Church requirement, service, event or festival.  If we cancel an occasion under this condition, we will repay any charges already paid in respect of that occasion and you will not be obliged to pay any further charges in respect of it.
  • 4.      None of the terms of the contract between you and us is intended to be enforceable by any person who is not a party to the contract.
